Habit Stacking To Manifest

Habit Stacking and the Law of Attraction: How One Daily Walk Changed My Life
What if the reason you’re not achieving your goals isn’t lack of motivation — but lack of strategy?
In this episode of Law of Attraction Changed My Life, I share how one simple daily habit completely transformed my health, mindset, productivity and manifestation practice. And the secret? Habit stacking.
Originally introduced in Atomic Habits by James Clear, habit stacking is the practice of attaching a new desired habit to something you already do every day. Instead of relying on willpower, the existing habit becomes the trigger.
And when I accidentally applied this to my daily school run, everything changed.
What Is Habit Stacking?
Habit stacking works like this:
After I do [current habit], I will do [new habit].
For example:
-
After I brush my teeth, I will say my affirmations.
-
After I make my morning coffee, I will write three gratitudes.
-
After I get in the car, I will listen to a self-development podcast.
The power lies in repetition and association. The existing behaviour becomes the cue.
For years, I had goals like:
-
Exercise more
-
Walk 10,000 steps a day
-
Spend more time outdoors
-
Practice daily visualization
-
Be more present with my children
But they always felt like extra tasks.
Until I turned my school run into the foundation habit.
How Walking to School Became a Manifestation Tool
When my daughters started school, I made a decision: we walk every day.
Rain or shine.
That single commitment unlocked multiple goals at once:
-
I automatically hit 10,000 steps a day.
-
The dog gets walked (twice a day).
-
We get natural daylight exposure in the morning.
-
I regulate my nervous system.
-
I practice visualization on the way home.
-
I get uninterrupted connection time with my children.
All from one non-negotiable habit.
This is habit stacking in action.
The Mental Health Benefits of Walking
Walking is more powerful than most people realise.
It’s a bilateral movement (left-right-left-right), which is similar to the stimulation used in EMDR therapy — a technique designed to help process trauma and regulate emotional responses.
When you walk:
-
You reduce cortisol (stress hormone)
-
You regulate adrenaline
-
You process emotional tension
-
You improve cognitive clarity
Have you ever noticed how an argument feels less intense after a walk?
That’s nervous system regulation in real time.
For busy mums, professionals, entrepreneurs — this is life-changing.
Morning Light, Circadian Rhythms and Energy
There’s also science behind getting outside in the morning.
Exposure to natural daylight helps:
-
Regulate your circadian rhythm
-
Improve sleep quality
-
Increase daytime alertness
-
Support hormonal balance
By simply walking to school, my daughters and I are resetting our biology every single day.
And better sleep = better mindset.
Better mindset = stronger manifestation energy.
Walking and the Law of Attraction
Here’s where it gets magical.
On my walk home, I put my headphones in and use that time intentionally:
-
Guided walking meditations
-
Creative visualization
-
Setting intentions
-
Gratitude practice
-
Sending voice notes to friends
Years ago, when I commuted daily into London, I unknowingly used that time to visualize. And I manifested some wildly specific things.
But somewhere along the way, I lost that habit.
Until this daily walk brought it back.
Movement quiets the noise.
Movement activates imagination.
Movement creates space.
And space is where manifestation happens.
Why Habit Stacking Makes Goals Effortless
The biggest shift?
It no longer feels like effort.
Before:
“Ugh, I need to go for a walk.”
“I should visualize.”
“I should move my body.”
Now:
It just happens.
Because the school run is the trigger.
When you stack habits onto something unavoidable — your commute, bedtime routine, cleaning the kitchen, walking the dog — the new behaviour becomes automatic.
No extra motivation required.
How You Can Apply Habit Stacking Today
Ask yourself:
What is something I do every single day without fail?
Ideas:
-
Your commute
-
Walking the dog
-
Cleaning up after dinner
-
Putting the kids to bed
-
Your lunch break
-
Your morning coffee
Now ask:
What goal have I been saying I want to achieve?
Then stack it.
Examples:
-
Listen to a podcast while cleaning.
-
Practice gratitude while driving.
-
Send one networking message during your lunch break.
-
Listen to subliminals while lying with your kids at bedtime.
-
Visualize while walking to work.
The activity becomes the cue.
The cue becomes automatic.
The automatic becomes your new identity.
Small Habits Create Big Manifestations
We often think manifestation requires:
-
Hours of journaling
-
Perfect routines
-
Huge bursts of motivation
It doesn’t.
It requires consistency.
And consistency comes from systems — not willpower.
Habit stacking turns:
“I wish I did this”
into
“This is just what I do.”
And when you become the type of person who:
-
Moves daily
-
Visualizes daily
-
Practices gratitude daily
-
Regulates their nervous system daily
Your energy shifts.
Your identity shifts.
And your results shift.
The Law of Attraction Changed My Life
Not because I manifested once.
But because I built tiny daily habits that aligned me with the version of myself who already had what she wanted.
Your commute.
Your school run.
Your dog walk.
Your bedtime routine.
These aren’t inconveniences.
They’re portals.
Stack wisely.
And watch what changes.
